Governor's Budget Proposal Supports IHSS

Governor Brown has announced a proposed $122.6 billion budget for the coming 2016-17 fiscal year. Included in the proposed spending plan are funding increases in Medi-Cal, public education, infrastructure and healthcare including In-Home Support Services (IHSS). Many of the budget increases attempt to restore funding to programs that have been cut annually since the start of the 2008 recession. This KEY News story focuses especially on IHSS, where caseloads are increasing, and quotes Devin Drake, our Deputy Director of Adult and Children Services.
