Driven Out

This piece in Pacific Standard magazine addresses the RV dweller issue in Santa Barbara, and how a coming crackdown may push people out of vehicles and onto the street. "All along the California coastline, city officials are playing a cat-and-mouse game with RV dwellers, crafting legislation that effectively forces them out of town—and continues the eternal quest for a parking place to call home." The piece notes the percentages of RV dwellers with income from jobs or Social Security, and aid from CalFresh or Medi-Cal.
