Court-Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) held an event to honor those who protect children, May 23, 2022 at the Santa Maria Juvenile Court. Among those honored at the "Light of Hope" event were two of our DSS Social Workers, recognized as Social Workers of the Year for CASA and receiving the Advocate’s Caring Collaborator Award. Mayor Alice Patino presented the award to Lene Ferrari, and Sheriff Brown presented the award to Xochilt Ibarra.
